The magnificent 1,200 seat Sahuarita Auditorium, represents an important milestone in the cultural life of Pima County and the south region of Arizona. This state-of-the-art center fills a much needed middle-seating capacity not served by any other venue in the area. The Main auditorium can seat 750 and within a few minutes, the Sub Halls can rotate into the Main Hall to give it a 1,200 seat capacity.
The Sahuarita Auditorium, is located on Sahuarita/Helmet Peak Road, half a mile east of Interstate 19 at exit 75, in Sahuarita. The multi-use facility is utilized by the district of the Sahuarita Unified School District. When not in use by the district, the auditorium becomes available for lovers of the performing arts. The Sahuarita Auditorium offers everything from Nationally Touring Groups to Ballets, Symphonies, Big Bands and much more.
Architecturally, the interior of the auditorium was designed with acoustical quality uppermost in the plan. The slope of the hall and the ceiling and walls, enhance performers projection and audience hearing pleasure.
The fine arts facility encompasses over square 28,000 feet of space. It comprises the main auditorium and two Sub Halls within in the complex. The Sub Halls were created for large class instruction and meetings for seating of 225 each.
In addition, there are prop storage and workshop, men's and women's dressing room, a make-up room and box office. It is fully networked with access to the Internet and is Multimedia ready. The orchestra pit accommodates approximately 35 musicians. There is parking for 500 cars and the auditorium is accessible to the handicapped.
